Salvation is not a 1 step program or process. The prayer of salvation is vital but it is only the first step on a journey in a new direction the destiny of which is an eternity in the presence of God and His Son our Savior. Jesus isn’t asking us to let Him join us in our life, He is inviting us to live our life in Him!

 

1 John 2:6 NLT: The one who says he belongs to Christ should live the same kind of life Christ lived. 

 

WHEN WE TRULY DO BELIEVE IN THE LORD THEN WE WILL ALSO BELIEVE AND RESPOND TO HIS WORD AND INSTRUCTION GIVEN TO US IN THE GOSPEL. GENUINE BELIEF WILL RESULT IN TURNING TO HIM THEN FOLLOWING HIM. WE CONTINUE TO SEEK HIM AND WE PLACE OUR COMPLETE FAITH, HOPE, AND TRUST IN HIM. ABSOLUTE FAITH MAKES US HIS!

Luke 11:9-10 NIV: 9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

 

Hebrews 11:6  NKJV: But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Acts 20:21 NIV: I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Romans 1:17 CEV: The good news tells how God accepts everyone who has faith, but only those who have faith. It is just as the Scriptures say, "The people God accepts because of their faith will live."

Galatians 3:26 KJV: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

WE ARE TO LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEART AND ABOVE ALL ELSE. WE MUST ALSO LOVE OTHERS ENOUGH TO FORGIVE THEM IN ORDER TO BE FORGIVEN OURSELVES.

1 John 2:15-17 NIV: 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

John 14:23-24 NKJV: 23 Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

Mark 12:29-31 NKJV: 29 Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is: Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these. the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.

Matthew 10:37 NJKV: Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Matthew 6:14-15 KJV: 14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

IF SAVED WE WILL BEGIN A TRANSFORMATION INTO A NEW LIFE, WE ARE "BORN AGAIN" IN GOD. THIS PROCESS STARTS WHEN WE ASK FOR AND ACCEPT HIS FREE GIFT OF SALVATION IN PRAYER, RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND SUBMIT TO HIM.

Matthew 18:3 NKJV: And He said, Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
 

John 1:12-13 NKJV: 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 3:3-6 KJV: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.    

 

John 6:63 NIV: The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

 

Ephesians 2:10 NLT: 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

1 John 2:29 NIV: If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him.

1 John 4:15 KJV: Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

AGAIN, WHEN WE ARE TRULY SAVED AND SUBMIT TO HIM, GODS HOLY SPIRIT ENTERS US AND BEGINS TO TRANSFORM US INTO A NEW PERSON FROM THE INSIDE OUT. IF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS IN US ITS PRESENCE IS EVIDENT AND UNMISTAKABLE.

1 John 5:10-12 NKJV: 10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

2 Thessalonians 2:13  NIV: But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Ephesians 1:13-14 NLT: 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.

1 John 3:24 NKJV: Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Acts 5:32 KJV: And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

WE CANNOT TRULY BELIEVE IN THE LORD WITHOUT OBEYING HIM,  FOLLOWING HIM AND SERVING HIM. TRUE FAITH WILL RESULT IN OBEDIENCE TO GODS WORD AND A COMPLETELY NEW DIRECTION IN OUR LIVES.

John 8:31 NKJV: Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

John 9:31 KJV: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 KJV: 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

Romans 2:13 NIV: For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

1 John 2:3-5 NLT: 3 We can be sure that we know Him if we obey His teaching. 4 Anyone who says, "I know Him," but does not obey His teaching is a liar. There is no truth in him. 5 But whoever obeys His Word has the love of God made perfect in him. This is the way to know if you belong to Christ.

2 John 1:9 NLT: Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.

THE LORD MUST COME FIRST AND ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE INCLUDING OURSELVES, HE LEADS AND WE FOLLOW.

Luke 9: 23-24 NIV: 23 Then he said to them all: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

Matthew 10:38-39 NJKV: 38 And anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

John 12:26 NKJV: If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Matthew 12:30 KJV: He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.

​

Luke 16:13 ESV: No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

1 John 1:6-7 NKJV: 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Acts 26:18 NLT: To open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.

John 12:46 NIV: I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

WE MUST DEVOTE OURSELVES TO GOD, LIVE ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, AND SERVE HIM. TRUE BELIEF AND REAL FAITH WILL RESULT IN A CHANGED LIFE WITH NEW PRIORITIES AND PURPOSE.

FAITH DEMONSTRATED IN OUR DAILY LIFE, WORDS, AND ACTIONS IS THE EVIDENCE THAT WE TRULY ARE HIS. HOWEVER, THE LACK OF THIS EVIDENCE WILL DEMONSTRATE THAT WE AREN'T.

Romans 12:1-2 KJV: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 3:7-8 NKJV: 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:10 NKJV: 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 

 

James 1:22 NKJV: But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 2:14 NIV: What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?  

 

James 2:17 NIV: In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

​

James 2:24 KJV: Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.  

 

James 2:26 KJV: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Romans 2:7-8 NIV: 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

John 5:28-29 NKJV: 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

NOW THAT WE KNOW WHAT REAL SALVATION REQUIRES OF US LETS LOOK AT SOME OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT  LIVING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.
