The Christian walk is both a way of life and a lifelong journey. It is a continuous process of transformation, growth, learning, and maturing. God has a unique plan for each of us on this journey and it is designed specifically for us. He is the Potter and we are the clay. The scriptures below will help you to understand what occurs, or what is supposed to occur, when we are sincerely committed to Christ and Christianity. Remember that our lives are transformed over time and not overnight. What matters most is that you are on the right path moving forward and not so much where you are on that path at this moment in time. If you do not yet see yourself in some of the verses below don't worry. They may not explain where you already are but, if you have given your life to God, they will explain where you're going. Christians will never be sinless but we are called to sin less...

AS GODS HOLY SPIRIT CONTINUES TO TRANSFORM US WE WILL "CRUCIFY" OUR OLD NATURE AND OUR OLD WAY OF LIFE. BECAUSE WE ARE BORN AGAIN SPIRITUALLY, OUR PRIORITIES AND PURPOSE WILL RADICALLY CHANGE AS WE DESIRE TO LIVE IN OBEDIENCE TO GOD.

Galatians 5:16-17 KJV: 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Romans 8:14-16 KJV: 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 4:22 NIV: Take on an entirely new way of life, a God fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you.

Colossians 3:1-4 CEV: 1 You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God's right side. 2 Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. 3 You died, which means that your life is hidden with Christ, who sits beside God. 4 Christ gives meaning to your life, and when he appears, you will also appear with him in glory.

Galatians 5:24-25 NIV: 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Romans 12:2 NLT: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

1 Peter 2:11 NIV: Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

Romans 6:22-23 NIV: 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 10:26-27 ASV: 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries.

OUR TRANSFORMED LIVES: THE WAY WE LIVE WILL REVEAL TO OTHERS WHO WE SERVE. IF WE WALK IN HIS LIGHT AND TRUTH OUR LIFE WILL PRODUCE ABUNDANT EVIDENCE OF WHAT WE TRULY BELIEVE.

Matthew 7:18-20 NIV: 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.   

 

John 7:38 NKJV: He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.

Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV: 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

1 John 5:10 NIV: Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony of God in them.

Here are a couple excellent examples of the prayer of salvation if you are ready to say this prayer and to truly devote your life to God:
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ. You said in Your Word that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) Father, I am calling on Jesus right now. I believe He died on the cross for my sins, that He was raised from the dead on the third day, and He's alive right now. Lord Jesus, I am asking You now, come into my heart. Live Your life in me and through me. I repent of my sins and surrender myself totally and completely to You. Heavenly Father, by
faith I now confess Jesus Christ as my new Lord and from this day forward, I dedicate my life to serving Him. Amen.

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died

for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
